Commonly used for the southern part of the city, and reflected in the name of Berwyn South School District 100. School district boundaries are not service boundaries — again, use the address. Landmarks like Proksa Park can help describe a location but aren't neighborhoods.

LaVergne / La Vergne

Gold Coast, Berwyn

This is a corroborated Berwyn neighborhood, not Chicago’s Gold Coast. Give the municipality and street address clearly. The Gold Coast planning guide covers individual and shared equipment responsibility.

Business corridors

The city's development corporation lists Cermak Road, Harlem Avenue, Ogden Avenue, the Depot District and Roosevelt Road ("The Veltway") as business corridors. These are commercial streets, not residential neighborhoods — but many homes and apartments sit on or just off them.

  • Cermak Road — east–west commercial corridor through the city.
  • Harlem Avenue — north–south corridor along Berwyn's western side.
  • Ogden Avenue — diagonal corridor in the southern part of the city.
  • Roosevelt Road / The Veltway — runs along the Oak Park–Berwyn border. Properties on either side may be in different municipalities, so confirm your address's actual jurisdiction.
